Signing of MoU between SINAP and CLS

(April 10, Shanghai) The Signing Ceremony of MoU between Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics (SINAP) and Canadian Light Source (CLS) was held on SINAP’s Zhangjiang campus on Tuesday morning. Present at the ceremony are Dr. Thomas Ellis, Research Director of CLS, Dr. Yongfeng Hu, beamline scientist of CLS, Dr. ZHAO Zhentang, director of SINAP, and some researchers from Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF), an affiliate to SINAP.

In his welcome speech, Dr. Zhao reviewed the past and ongoing scientific exchanges between the two sides, and expressed his confidence and good wishes for closer cooperative ties, which is reflected in the newly signed memorandum. Dr. Ellis, on behalf of the CLS, highlighted the importance of collaboration between the two facilities and believed that the MoU would lead to fruitful joint research.

Dr. Zhao and Dr. Ellis made academic presentations on their respective light source. After that, Dr. Ellis and Dr. Hu were given a tour of SSRF, and had in-depth discussions with scientists and engineers of SSRF to explore cooperation opportunities in specific areas.
