Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics for the first time realizing the cash transfer
over ten million of intellectual property

In order to deal with global climate change and realize energy structure transformation, quickly developing hydrogen energy industry is an important approach. Since 2010, Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences has prospectively arranged the research and development of solid oxide electrolysis hydrogen production technology, and concentrated on developing the key core technologies for high-temperature hydrogen production. On January 11, 2021, Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics and Shanghai Hydrogen Technology Co., Ltd completed the intellectual property transaction of patent technology related to hydrogen production materials, which was also the first intellectual property transfer project of more than ten million yuan in cash.

The main content of this intellectual property transaction involves core patents and technologies of hydrogen production by electrolysis of water using solid oxide. The implementation and transformation of this technology will strongly promote the efficient technology development of hydrogen production by electrolysis of water. The transaction was publicly listed in Shanghai Intellectual Property Exchange Center. By the way of market operation, the transformation from technological research and development to industrial application has been realized, the channel of scientific research output and production practice has been opened up, and scientific and technological achievements has been made better to integrate with local industries, to serve the development of national economy.

In the new period, Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics performs the strategy of scientific research and industrialization similar with the "walking on two legs". The successful transaction of intellectual property provides more referable models for the industrialization of science and technology, and creates a good start for the subsequent transformation of science and technology.

Take this as a good opportunity in the future, we look forward to continue to develop the core technology of high-temperature hydrogen production and promote the low-carbon transformation of energy. To promote the comprehensive green transformation development of the economy and society and achieve the goal of "striving to reach the peak of carbon dioxide emission before 2030 and striving to achieve carbon neutrality before 2060", we will make ourselves contributions as a national research institution.
